Working Smart

By Lee Rossini

Conflict is defined as 'a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one'. Although conflict is an inevitable part of life and most people strive to avoid conflict, the right sort of conflict in a team environment is not all bad. The ability to manage conflict is an important leadership skill. Once mastered, effective conflict management plays an important role enabling team members to better understand each other and in strengthening the cohesion of the team. It also saves time as conflicts can be resolved speedily, thus enabling team members to get back to carrying out the work of the team.
